Great question! Let's break it down:

1. You are given orders to Dahlgren as a student. 

2. You are required to procure lodging.  The NGIS is the gov't provided housing.

3. NGIS is full and you need to stay off base.

4. You can stay at a local hotel (ugh) or you can stay with us at one of our fully furnished houses.

5. You will sign a lease to rent a room in the house. Your room has its own keypad lock so only you have access to your room.  The cost is the commercial per diem rate ($107). You have private access to your room and open access to all other common spaces. 

6. You decide to go to the grocery store and prepare most of your own meals, thus saving yourself a ton of money. You will earn $59 a day for meals and incidentals.  You can easily pocket $45-50 per day by using our fantastic fully equipped kitchens to prepare your meals.

7. You earn rewards points (see link at the top for more details) which can net you anywhere from $300 to over $1000 depending on the length of your stay and the number of guests. 

8. You invite your friends from class to lodge with us and earn additional rewards points and referral bonuses! :)

9. You check out and receive a copy of your lease and daily itemized receipt for your travel claim.

10. You check into your new command and continue to serve our Nation proudly as the fine warfighters that you are!

Great question! We have a link at the top of the page covering this question.  The BLUF here is that you will earn points per night, increasing in number with the number of guests staying with you.  At the end of your stay, you will receive an Amazon gift card cashing out your points :)  You won't find a better deal anywhere in the area!

BLUF: Yes.  Every single guest with us has been fully reimbursed.

The Joint Travel Regulations allows for travelers to secure leases and stay in houses or apartments while on travel.  The JTR also requires that travelers submit a daily itemized receipt of their lodging expenses in order to be properly reimbursed.  We provide you this receipt, broken down by day, just like you'd receive at a hotel.  You'll submit your lease and this receipt when you file your travel claim.  Easy day.

USS Last Ship - 5 minutes

USS Friendship - 2 minutes

USS First Ship - 4 minutes

USS Next Ship - 20 minutes

USS Give A. Ship - 20 minutes

USS Shipmate - 4 minutes

USS Next and Give A. Ship are in Colonial Beach and have several restaurants and bars to visit.  The drive into school is a scenic one!

Easy day shipmate! Just let us know the revised dates and we'll update your lease and re-send for initials.  No fees and No problem!

We are first and foremost your shipmates.  If you are unhappy for any reason with the accommodations, we ask that you let us know ASAP so we can correct the deficiency!  If you still desire to check out early, easy day.  We'll update the end date on your lease to  your new desired end day, no fees no penalties, no worries.

Great question! Not everyone wants to share a house with folks they don't know, even if those folks are fellow Naval Officers.  We have a link at the top if you are interested in reserving the entire house for yourself.  You need have at least one buddy with you, and we can talk about locking down the entire house for you.  Just ask!
